Our Story
Meet Chat
My name is Chealsea Marlo Mills (Nickname Ms. Chet). I am 50 years old, single, and I have one daughter and grandson. I have been a resident of Opelika for my entire life and home owner there for 45 plus years. I am a graduate of Opelika High School Class of 1988 and hold an Associate's degree in Childcare Development from Southern Union State Community College Class of 2015. In 2016-2017 I attended Troy University to pursue my education and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. Midway through my pursuit, unforeseen occurrences arose and led me to put my education on hold.
The love for children, their growth, developmental skills, and learning abilities has always been my passion . I consider myself to be very loving, kind, considerate, understanding, and a very respectful woman.
I have worked at Boykin Head Start in Auburn Alabama as a teacher aide. I worked at University Daycare while gaining internship, then later became a full time employee there as a teacher. I also held the position of Lead teacher at Darden Head Start in Opelika and part time teacher at Dandy Land Childcare Center in Opelika as well. At each job, I worked to gain experience while obtaining the inspiration to someday own and operate my own daycare. It was a great joy as well as learning experience to be able to work hands on and interact with children on a daily basis.
I am currently a member of the Lee County Home Daycare Providers Group. I also attend Child Care Resource Center in Opelika on a monthly basis to obtain new skills and knowledge that is required by DHR (Department of Human Resource). I also enjoy discovering different ways to enhance my profession so that I am able to be a successful home daycare provider. My main objectives are to love, nurture, teach, structure, and keep your child safe and clean in my home daycare.
